In this dual Front Office Specialist II and Medical Assistant role, you’ll perform clinical and non-clinical duties, gather patient information, and work with the healthcare team to assess and provide appropriate care for low-acuity pediatric patients. You’ll also schedule appointments, greet patients and visitors, handle incoming calls, coordinate referrals, enter accurate billing information, and submit claims. You’ll support patients and families by introducing yourself, explaining visits and processes, and communicating expected visit lengths.

Clinic Hours: Open 7 days a week — Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–10:00 PM; Saturday–Sunday, 10:00 AM–8:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and documents patient information, vital signs, medications, allergies, and reasons for visits accurately
  • Prepares pediatric patients for examinations and assists providers with treatments, testing, and emergency care within site protocols
  • Administers medications and immunizations as directed by the physician, documents care and patient education, and promptly reports errors or adverse reactions
  • Collects and processes specimens, performs laboratory tests and quality checks, and follows applicable laboratory and safety requirements
  • Coordinates outside laboratory services, tracks results, and notifies providers of results and testing issues
  • Greets patients and visitors, manages check-in and check-out, schedules appointments, and communicates delays and visit processes
  • Screens calls, documents messages, and provides telephone guidance and prescription refill support under provider direction and site protocols
  • Coordinates referrals and verifies patient demographics, insurance coverage, and required visit documentation
  • Processes billing information, collects payments, balances daily transactions, and assists with billing questions and denial prevention
  • Maintains accurate, confidential medical records and processes record requests and correspondence according to practice protocols
  • Maintains clinical supplies and medication inventory and supports infection control and practice improvement activities 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduation from a medical assisting or emergency medical technician program preferred
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required
  • 2 years of related experience required
